I've taken too many propranolol, do I need medical assistance?

Posted , 2 users are following.

I've taken 400mg, I'm 5'5 and about 120-125lbs. Will I be ok at home or should I seek medical help? I'm experiencing a fast heart rate and dizziness. I can't let my family know I've done this so preferably I need to stay home but I'm scared so if I really am in danger I will contact my GP. Thank you

Ring your GP or ring 111.  I am no medic but your overdose sounds high. Better save than sorry!

Yes, you really are in danger. Ring 999. I will be praying for you. You need some support. Is there a counsellor at your school/college/workplace? Or look for a church which is friendly and loving. Please let us know how you are getting on.

No, get advice and help now!  Ring your emergency number 999 in the UK but are you in the US, in which case 911.

I would have have expected a bad reaction with four hours.  How long is it from the time you took the overdose?

Immaterial really  - just ring and get yourself checked out!

Ok but for goodness sake ring 999 if you feel bad.  Also, get help to sort out the problem that caused this,  I know the situation must seem hopeless or complicated or whatever but your life is precious, remember, both to you and to your family, maybe start by ringing a help group such as the Samaritans, they are pretty good at listening!
