I want to know why I can't get away from my boot

I had a second ankle Fusion in September of 2017 my doctor said 6 months no wait I did exactly that and then I moved to the boot but the pain is so bad when I try to put shoes on that I can't I have to keep going back to my boot is this normal or as am I doing something wrong I see my doctor in a few days and I will try to talk to him about this he's not much for conversation

    Have you tried a shoe size larger and a good ankle support brace like ASO?
