I was a rough sleeping alcoholic for eleven years, following the death of my son. i am now writing stories and plays about homelessnes and drinking. i still have friends who live rough and are drinkers, talk of detox is all well and good, but it is easier to enter if you have the money, and of course a family who are educated in the problem and who do care, it seems very sad to me that a political leader's admission of a drink problem starts the country talking about a problem and illness that has and has had a massive impact on people's lives for years. I have seen and experienced first hand what drink does, sadly none of my friends have survived to warn people, it's about time the government started to realise how big the problem already is and with extended drinking hours how out of control it will grow

Is this person still here? If so..what is a rough sleeping alcoholic?
The loss of a son is enough to send anyone into "rough" drinking.

This is one of the old message that is in that top box, that I answered to, to hopefully get it to disappear. In most of the other forums, they don't have these ancient messages in the top box. What they have is message that are maybe a few weeks old that nobody has replied to, and they serve as a reminder that nobody has responded to someone's request for help.
I don't see any benefit in having these year+ old messages that are of no help to anyone, hence my attempt to get the to fall down the message list and be gone.
