I was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma years ago. Had many surgeries but it keeps recurring.

I had many surgeries to remove basal cell carcinoma and it has now appeared in my scalp. My doctor recommended another surgery.  I have had surgeries at least 4 times and and each surgery was bigger than the one before.  It is now in my scalp.  I would like to know what are the best alternative for me.

Every person differs, and therefore no-one here will be able to tell you what to do in your circumstances because of so many variables. A suitable conversation with your oncologist and/or surgeon to explore your next steps and prognosis ought to be your next step. If need be, a second opinion may be needed.

I wish you well and am sorry to hear you have a,ready had to have so much treatment already

    Hi germaine12882,

When you say four different surgeries I take it you mean four biopsies followed by four follow up surgeries to remove all traces at each site.

I was found to have malignant melanoma in my forearm early this year and have had that cut out, and biopsies to my back, thigh and inside the roof of my mouth. Now I have several areas on my head which they have taken photos and measurements to monitor. It is for our own good, I just let them get on with it, if in doubt cut it out, mind you the biopsy on the roof of my mouth!!!!!
