Hi.. i just want to ask if anyone here experience same symptons as i have mine..? I was diagnosed with GERD and i was in medication and recovered for awhile. Last November, my GERD came back again and till now im sufferring lota of devastating and scary symptoms like - chest & back pain/pressure thats only relieve when burping. Most of the time my tummy is a beat hard too and i can feel pressure (maybe of acidity or gas..?) And relieve whenever i fart or something. The sides of my neck feels like they're swelling but its not and alot of pressure in my neck and head and it makes me dizzy. i also have palpitations and fast heart rate. Im havibg hard time breathing sometimes specially at night cause there are times when my nose and head feels like theyre congested or has pressure. sad I also experience shoulder and arms pain. Both sides. I cant help but to panic sometimes and it really makes me so anxious.

Hi there, some of this sounds like GERD, and some sounds like anxiety, probably caused from GERD.   About six months ago, I got an espophagal spasm, it was soooo painful in my chest it was mimicing heart...so I went to the ER and they ran tests to rule that out.....following that I had three more, so they sent me for further testing on my heart all came back normal, thank goodness.   From there they diagnosed me with GERD......as soon as I started researching it, I started to take on more symptoms......so not sure if it all was gerd or from the anxiety of having it and not finding relief......I have always been an anxious person and worry a lot....and from what I am learning is that anxiety can trigger gerd on......so I am trying to focus on keeping my anxiety down and deal with the symptoms as they come.  I plan on going for a test or two to make sure there is nothing more going on.....but having tests bring on anxiety for me, so it is like a merri go round effect.....so I am taking a break from all of that and focussing on diet, and destressing.  Have you had any tests done to find out what is causing GERD?

Hi linda. Thanks for the reply. I had full stomach ultrasound and it was clear. Thlugh im feeling sick and nauseous sometimes. I also get pain in my tummy (All around but not often). I have IBS too. The doctor asked me to do some barrium test but im scared to do it. Like u, im also very much anxious in almost everything. sad I easily get anxious. I also have panic attacks and all but not often. My cardiologist did lots of test for my heart and everything is clear and normal. Though i was diagnosed with premature heartbeats and im under medication for that (ivabradine 5mg). I also went to an ENT and he checked my throat because i have that lump feeling and sometimes i feel like choking and all and thats how i was diagnosed with GERD. He put me on ppi. And one week of NSAID because my throat is inflamed.

I totally understand, in fact I cancelled my barium test back in November because my anxiety got the better of me.  They wanted to do several barium tests all at once.  A modified barium swallow test that looked at my throat, then a barium swallow test to look at my esophagus, and then an upper gi xray on my stomach........that is a lot of barium to take in when one already has a sensitive stomach and from what I understand that barium tastes horrid.......SO.....I am going to call again and see if they can do one test at a time...starting with just the throat seeing that is where all my symptoms seem to be right now...and then go from there.   I opted for these tests over the endoscopy because my aunts father died while getting the procedure done, not sure if it was the procedure itself or the sedation, but he didn't come out alive.  Also my husband had one done and he said he would never do it again, he was sedated but felt the worst part of it......so that would be a last resort test.  I guess it depends who are doing them, but I have read enough posts to see that people get several endoscopies and get different diagnosis...so I question if these are accurate tests anyway.   How did they look at your throat was it by a scope?  I really should be seeing an ENT but it was never mentioned to me......I guess I will have to make another doctor appointment and ask to be referred to one.  I am not any ppi's just watching my diet and using ACV and DGL....which seems to help....but when I eat chocolate or have too much dairy, or I don't eat for several hours the lump in the throat seems to be worse......it is a daily thing it seems, but on and off.....I am almoset getting used to it as I have had this on and off now for 6 months.   It took about three months to get all the other tests done to rule out anything bad....I guess this year will be about finding out the cause of gerd.

Hi, I am sure you all will not find anything wrong through medical check out, I had those symptoms for five years now and doctors think either acid reflux or chronic fatigue syndrome, they are both scary but. Non fatal. So don't be afraid.

    God bless
