I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 16 and since then have been constantly battling with myself to try and lose weight, I am now 25 and still grossly overweight. I also have every other symptom you can think of linked to this dreaded condition and as this festive season is upon us I have hit rock bottom.

How come all the celebraties who have made this condtion fashionable have never been overweight or as hairy as a man eg Anna Friel, Victoria Beckham.

Please forgive me for whinging but as christmas day is upon us I am struggling to find my festive cheer!

i know how you feel i am now 27 and have been battling as long as you i took metformin and had to be taken off it as my body had a bad reaction to it every time i had taken it. i use to weigh 13st and 3lbs i now weigh 19st 2 lbs and life gets really unbearable sometimes but i just keep going as i am fed up with people saying its pcos all the time and there is nothing you can do about it so i have decided this year i am going to put in 110% and try everything i can to lose weight and if it does not work then i am going to stop worrying and try and get on with my life as i am fed up with pcos taking over my life.

I was diagnosed a year and a half ago after having problems since i was 12 (im now 29!) and after repeatedly telling the docs something was wrong. He even said, "oh whatever, i will send you for a scan even though its a waste of nhs money as u have 2 children" !!! Well I have suffered depression since the age of 15, have put on 2 and a half stome since going on metformin, my hair is thicker and darker, hmmmm, not alot of hope there sad

Yes that has also happend to me. Im 31 years old, have had Pco since i was a teenager. Recently due to me asking the doc's i need help. theyve put me on metformin. Im also taking something for my heavy periods, which once again i had to ask for. Like you, ive got facial hair, male pattern baldness. Hair also on my back, just a little ! thank god.

Now also on tablets for my high blood pressure, which is caused by my PCo. Im also very overweight, but im doing the Paul mckenna system and im loosing weight slowly. Yes loosing weight will be a god send for PCO's but its hard very hard.

YES how comes victoria beckham dont have any symptoms??. I very much doubt that she has PCO's.
