I was diagnosed with this complaint on February 14 2005 after a light cold, being admitted to hospital and checked for heart and lung problems.
I was prescribed Diclafenic? and 500/30 Cocodamol which helped relieve the pain but after 4 hour the pain returned as accute as ever.
I was hospitalised for one day and off work for 3 weeks in total returning to work still with a lot of pain. After two weeks my doctor would no longer prescribe the medication so I bought over the counter meds - Ibuprofen 400 and 500/8 Cocodamol. The pain was intense and massive for a couple of days until I became used to the new meds but had to take them every 4 hours.
At about 6 weeks I was off the medication with a slight lump still in the left of my chest but still weak and unable to do anything physical; stressful situations still agrivated the syndrome. At eight weeks my vehicle was hit from behind, I recieved a slight pull of a muscle in my back from the accident and as a result the Tietzes has returned. Ibuprofen is doing little to help and I feel I will have to combine this with the Cocodamol again.
I have just spent a weekend in accute pain the pain swapping from my chest to my back and pinching my arm and shoulder. This leaves me with little drive and ability to do very little. I was told by the consultant in hospital that the condition would be with me for a week but two months on I am still in a lot of pain and constant suffering. I would be grateful for advice on pain relief as the pain is affecting all aspects of my life and is really making me feel very low and useless as I am struggling to muster the energy to do simple things like iron or wash up at the moment.
