I was hoping someone will tell me what I have.

The skin in the crease of my nose is constantly flaking however it is extremely oily at the same time. The skin is sometimes either red or even purple. If I peel at the skin and it is touched with something salty or something like tears it stings and awful lot. Others in my family have it as well but no one knows what it is. I've had it for about 5 years but it has recently gotten worse. I've tried using all kinds of natural face washes but none work. I've also tried putting on tea tree oil but that hasn't worked either. I was thinking that maybe it was perioral dermatitis but I do not have any red BUMPS just the area around it is red/purple. Any ideas on what it is and what I could do to help it?

Yes, I agree with Lisa. It sounds like it could be a case of Rosacea. The best thing to do is to get an appointment with your GP who can help and refer you to a dermatologist! Best of luck!
