I was involved in an accident 3 weeks ago when a speed demon decided that i looked a little lonely on my side of the road and decided to join me from his side. Result? My 9 year old daughter and i suffered severe seat belt bruising and i have whiplash! Having never suffered this injury before i am amazed at the effect that it has on everyday life. I try to carry on with ordinary tasks (work being out of the question at the moment), but the next day finds me aching even more! All the pain killers seem to do is make me extremely tired.

Just a few hours ago I was rear ended by a guy going 40 mph. I got out of my car and that is when I felt that I had a neck injury. I am just dreading the after affects that you all say will come tomorrow. Even the officer that worked the accident said that i would be in even more pain in 24 hours. Thanks for sharing your experiences with the world. Now I know when it is neccessary to seek medical attention or not.sad:yikes:

    Hi all

2 years ago I was hit from the rear when stationary by a car doing approx 60 to 70mph. My car was written off totally, Ive had bad whiplash problems since. These include neck pain etc.

Recently I have been diagnosed with arthritis, and someone has told me that it is probably linkled to the whiplash injury.

Does anyone know if this is possible, as there doesnt seem much information to suggest this.

Hi, I know exactly how you feel! It is actually 5yrs ago today that I had my accident (hit from behind at 40mph) I have now been declared minor disabled and am just about to start seeing another medical professional! I have been under the Chronic Pain Control Unit for 4 years and now they have discharged me after having the nerves in my neck killed off (medical term- microwaved!) Horrific injections in the base of my skull 6 times, drugs you name it. I am now referred to a Neurologist. I have also been told I will have this and be in constant pain for the rest of my life. I am only 29yrs old and have been told I will probabley have arthiritis in my neck by the age of 34!! Keep on going though do not let the doctors/GP's fob you off, Unless you have this injury no one knows how you feel, the constant pain and the Cyrogenic headaches! Chin up if you can.........
