I woke with what I thought was tooth ache but, was informed this wasn't the case by my dentist after xrays. A further two days pasted when work collegues noticed a change in my facial movements. My visit to the local A&E confirmed that I had classic symptoms of BP. I am at present two weeks with BP and taking steroids but, also tablets to help me stop feeling dizzy and sick. I have not noticed other comments regarding this but, I find that a constant pain from behind the ear along with the normal none facial movement which isn't too much of an issue however the feeling of being unsteady on my feet and general tiredness is making me feel uneasy. I understand from various sources that facial exercise and massage is a must and should be started as soon as possible.

I started to feel a little dizzy and sick on monday 21st but it wasnt till the next day that the right side of my face just didnt feel right, it felt like I had had injections at the dentist, a pain behind my ear, and tingling feeling from under my eye down to my chin, the doctor said it was start of bells pasly. He advised to rest and over the next 48hrs would determine how `bad` it would be.

I am going back to see him on friday god knows what my face will be like by then, today thursday all of the right side of my is is painfull and feels cold but my cheek is very red.

reading this web site has helped cos I know now im not on my own!. smile

I too was feeling unsteady on my feet, dizzy and unstable after a few days of being told I had BP.It is now 2 1/2 weeks later and I feel that way when I am over tired. I think the Doctors should stress the fatigue one feels. Rest is so important. I am trying to remain positive, but healing is a slow process. I wish someone would invent an eye patch that would be more comfortable. I live in Canada. Any information helps one to have hope for a full recovery.

I currently have BP, I was diagnosed 4 weeks ago, I have started to show signs of improvement on my face, but the dizzyness is still with me, and I feel constantly sick, Loud noises are very unconfortable, in the last two days I have almost totally lost the hearing in the ear of the affected side, I dont know which is worse, my doctor can not give me any medication because I take warfarin, she said it is all about time and rest, I had a throat infection around a week before this started.

As for sleeping I found a medical tape strip over the eye is much more effective than a patch. I have massaged my face from the start, I am sure that is helping the slow return of my facial muscles.

Chin up everyone (hee hee) I am sure we have all dealt with worse
