My sister is suffering like your Dad for the past three months, staggering and constant sickness, again her ct scan and mri scan were clear, she is agitated and worried sick, she is in hospital all the time, when she is out in the open air she is worse, she is also very fatigued. We have had every diagnosis from vertigo to inner ear inflammation. She is afraid she is going to stay like that. She HATES the thought and sight of food, so we just dont know, I know thats not much help but you are not alone. :?:

Sounds like hes going through an exremely bad clucster of attacks. You dont always have the problem with the ears at start, that come's later after the Disease sets in.

Only bit of advice id give you is, ask your doctor about serc or long word for it is Betahistine Hydrochloride. and they might also give you bendroflumethiazide (helps you extract the salt in your body)..

Also cut back on salt and salty food and caffeine. This is not a cure but it makes the dizzy spell slightly less aggressive. Sound weird but works

I have meinieres and have had the sac decompression op which has eased the severe vomitting i used to get although i still get the dizzy spells and nausea and the ringing in my ear

I found reducing salt and caffeine did work! Decaf tea and coffee and no salt on my dinner or during cooking reduced the symptoms

    Good luck

Hi, your poor dad. It is very possible he has developed Meniere's. If so the usual treatment via the gp is Stematil. (Not totally sure of spelling) It''s very good and rebalances the inner ear and completely stops the dizzyness/vertigo in a day or so. I've had it a few times in the past and know a couple of other people who take it as well. It is at least worth a try.
