IBS?

I have left sided pain, always in the same place which is left of my tummy button.  I do not get the other symptoms i.e. diarrhoer etc but sometimes find this pain is worse when I have eaten chocolate or other foods not so good for you!  Does anyone else get this pain in the same place as me???  My dr says it is IBS

Has your doctor done tests and does your pain move around and change in intensity?  Mine does.  I don't have food intolerances but chocolate is one of the main culprits.  I get pain if I get too constipated or stressed.

Hi thanks for your reply. Mine stays in the same place... Never moves. I find when I have it I am bloated too and uncomfortable. I have had a colonoscopy as my mum had bowel cancer and my dad too but all came back ok but slight inflammation so biopsies taken but all ok. Have had for about a year now. Also I find it can hurt when I bend over in my stomach too. Does anyone else have this?

Hi, thank you, it's nice to hear someone else has similar symptoms!!

Yes same, but mine is not pain just bloating in stomach, they say it can be gas trapping at the fold in your large intestine just under your stomach. Chocolate is bad for most with GI problems from what I read. Milk chocolate is easer on me when I can't resist anymore. Coffee, even decaf due to acid content I think kills me. You have to stop eating stuff you have problems with, drinking, smoking. Try FODMAP diet.

Thank you, that's helpful! Sounds like I might need to change my diet and maybe give up chocolate and food not so good for me!!! Also will look up that diet too, thanks.

Also get on good pre and probiotics, and get blood work for deficiencies in nutrients, minnerals i.e. iron, B-12 levels, hydrogen breath test and a feces analysis if you can.
