Ibs?

Hi all. I am hoping that some of you guys can offer some advise and share some of your symptoms with me. I have been having various pains in my abdomens everyday since early May. They started on upper right abdomen that lasted for a month. I thought it was gallbladder but ultrasound shown that it was fine. Early June, the pains moved to middle epigastric area and left side. Was sent for a ct of abdomen with contrast. That showed that everything was normal. Had eus to check bile ducts. That too was normal. Tons of blood tests and faecal calprotectin test. All normal. My gastro doctor said that it is a functional bowel problem. In fact, I have 2 gastro docs tell me this. At the moment my symptoms are a bloated feeling and little pain in upper left abdomen that feels sometimes like a balloon is being blown up and squeezed. This feeling stays like this all day. Never really moves apart from feeling like it's being squeezed more. From what I've read, this should be releaved when I go the toilet but it isn't really helping. I do feel like I need to go all the time. Lots of wind also. Does this sound like ibs? Do any of you experience similar symptoms?

Sorry for the length of the post.

Its called Splenic Flexure Syndrome. But really nothing more than IBS. Gas i s getting trapped there just under your left ribs. It can hurt just under the last two ribs and down a little towards the descending colon. It can cause some left flank and back discomfort as well. Happens on the right side also at the bend in the colon coming out of the ascending colon Spunds to me like your spasms are moving right to left over time. That would explain the mid epigastric pain as thats right at where the transverse colon moves across the belly. Sometimes a movement does not relieve it much. It depends on when the spasm releases. I have experienced it a number of times. I just ride it out pretty much lol. THE IBS WAVE!!

Sounds like IBS if all your tests are negative.  Have you been officially diagnosed with Irritable Bowel?

Ive not been officially diagnosed with ibs yet. The drs are calling it a functional bowel problem. I guess that is ibs in dr speak. Do any of you feel bloated all the time. Kind of put you off your food. I also get really hungry really quickly. like not hungry to hungry and have to eat NOW in seconds. Any of you guys experience this?

Functional Bowel Disorders are numerous but the most common one seen is IBS. And people tend to have a wide variety of symptons wirh an exception of the most common shared ones like abdominal pain,bloating,etc.. I Never get the urge to eat immediately. Here is a great resource for functional gi disorders http://www.iffgd.org/

IBS is a functional bowel disorder.  I suppose if this is what they are calling it, then you probably have an official diagnosis of IBS. Bloating and being put off your food is a common IBS symptom; fortunately, I have never experienced this.

Try enteric coated peppermint capsules, Turmeric 95% curcumin with piperine capsules, peppermint relaxes the colon, antispasmodic, Turmeric is anti inflammatory, cut right down on fibre, probiotics like Kefir bio yogurt, and see if you improve, just some suggestions, I've been through loads of gut problems constipation, diarrhoea, bloating, cramps, that's IBS for you.

So, do any of you experience niggles when you move in certain ways. If I lay in my belly and kind of arch my back, I get a bit of a niggle on the upper left abdomen. I imagine that it is where the splenic flexure is. It's not painful. Just feels wierd.
