IBS?

For the past 2 months now, I've been experiencing some weird symptoms. In the morning I will wake up with cramps and gas as soon as I open my eyes. Then I will have to go to the bathroom. In the first month, my stool would come out firm then 30 seconds later, it would be all loose, Not diarrhea though. After I eat a big meal, about 30 minutes later, I will get cramps once again. plus the gas is worse. And I've noticed that I've been burping more frequently that usual. My cramps and gas tend to go away after I pass a bowel movement. I've also felt like I haven't fully emptied myself. Eating fatty foods have for sure made my symptoms worse. I've also noticed mucus in my stool. I've even passed mucus itself. The mucus in yellowish clear. I just need answers, because this is the most scared I've ever been in my life. Help!

Hi Zoey, I have been experiencing the same as you, except i wake with rumbling sounds and the urge to go. Have you seen a doctor since this started?

No I have not, but I get rumbling too. after I eat. Ive read online that its most likely ibs.

Could be H. Plylori. I had it. I threw up and lost my appetite. Lots of stomach pain as well. Or your gall bladder as well just get it checked out asap

I don't think its what u mentioned. And my pain rlly only happens after I eat, and as soon as a wake up. Could it be ibs?

Thank you for your advice on what I could have had. It's been so scary dealing with this. I looked up GERD and it doesn't look like I have it. I haven't had any heartburn or acid what so ever. But I rlly do think I have ibs. I just need someone to reassure me that I might be right.

U might be right. I've also noticed that soda, and dairy products have made me feel worse. One morning I had a glass of butter milk, then I have a colander lunch, and had diarreah and mucus. Probably the worst day out of my 2 months of having these symptoms.

Where do you experience the abdominal cramps (which part of your tummy)?

    This sounds very like IBS.

Are you well otherwise? No weight Loss? No Fevers?

If so - look for dietary triggers.

If the cramps last for >10mins - you may want to consider getting an antispasmodic drug that you can take when they occur to relieve them.

The pain is always in my lower abdomen, and only appears when I have to go pass stool. And once I wake up with morning. Once i pass the stool, it goes away completely

And I haven't lost any weight, maybe gained a pound or 2, BC of over eating, but other than that no fever, I've felt fine, just abdominal discomfort.

Are you sure, I just need some reassurance. You have no idea how scared and worried I've been these past 3 months.

Hey Zoey, this could be IBS which was my first diagnosis 25 years ago. But some of your symptoms sound like gallbladder issues. It can be as simple as an ultrasound to determine if you have stones, but if there aren’t stones than a HIDA scan can be done to determine if your gallbladder is functioning properly. You might want to try a little bit of benefiber, fiber can help with the cramps.

Hi, thank you for your opinion. I always thought it was ibs. I'm 14 though. Is it possible to have gallbladder issues this young?

I’m not sure Ruby, I’m not a Doc. But 14 is probably to young for gallbladder issues, so it just might be IBS.
