Hi guys,
Its been a while since I've logged in or written on the forum.
I've not had an attack since August. I've changed my diet completely and cut out what I ended up seeing as triggers as well as stress. However, today I have had an attack at work which is uncomfortable, constant diarrhea and uncomfortable stomach pains. Buscopan doesn't work for me at all. Has anyone tried Bio-Kult?
Thanks in advance
Natasha

Try Imodium and painkillers. I combine Buscopan with painkillers and this works better than Buscopan alone when the pain is bad.

Hi Pippa,
I've taken imodium so I'm hoping it'll calm down soon. I did take Buscopan, but it did not help! 😦

Combine buscopan with a strong conventional oainkiller and it will work.

HI NATASHA
I am a firm believer that stress is one of the main causes of IBS as well, of course as food allergies.
I am currently awaiting spinal surgery as well as trying to move home following an horrendous house fire. Life is obviously very stressful and my IBS is out of control. The pain is terrible and I sometimes liken it to severe labour pains.
The problem is that you never know when it is going to happen and sometimes it is at the most inopportune times, like on a flight or at the theatre etc which can be extremely embarrassing. My poor husband has had to drive me home in the middle of an evening due to me being taken ill with pain and diarrohea.
I hope you feel better soon.
I take immodium and buscopan but have to be careful as I am also on Warfarin, oh joy.

Hi Sylvia,
I'm so sorry to hear about the fire! Thats horrible. I honestly don't have anything to be stressed about, I have just started a new job. But you are right, it can happen at any time. At this moment I just have bad pains and the diarrhea has stopped. I have taken both imodium and buscopan but not helped as much!
Thanks

Hi Natasha, i too suffer from ibs but with constipation not lose stools! I have just had my first lot of bio-kult today, i didn't taste it, i didn't know i took it and you can open the little containers and pour it in to yogurt or something. It may give you a bloated stomach though like it did me. I wish you good luck with it i am going to try it!

Hi Sam,
Oh how did it go? I've been told that I have the stomach flu. Which makes sense as I can't eat anything at the moment as it makes me sick.
Thank you for your advise!

I had the same as you a few weeks ago, the problem with a bug is it can take up to a week to recover. The bio-kult worked but i'm going to check with my doctor if it is ok to take, i felt i needed something to shift the pain because it doesn't stop at present. I may check with my chemist about the pain because they sold them to me. Good luck with bug, bland, bland and bland again. For bugs i have 2 days of no food or liquid, then water only, then dry toast, then soup, then build from there, good luck.x

Hi Sam,
Hope you managed to speak to your doctor and pharmacist? And are feeling better now?
The diarrhea has calmed down and I'm no longer being sick which is great. Only annoying thing is that when I eat, I feel constant pain in my stomach which makes it feel like IBS pain? Its like a constant stitch in my lower stomach and I've noticed that I'm constipated since the diarrhea has stopped. Fingers crossed it passes soon!
