IBS - Acid Reflux - Pain on left pelvic area, hip joint

Posted , 4 users are following.

I've had acid reflux for 15 years and I was diagnosed with IBS a few years after that. So I have all of the usual symptoms. Lately I've been experiencing strong pain on my left hip joing that extends to the pelvic and stomach area, along with extreme bloating... all while experiencing burning in the esophagus, stomach pain and pain in my throat.

Has anybody else experienced this? Do you think it's all related to the IBS and GERD?

I looked into that but I don't have most of the more serious symptoms like the fever, vomiting or diarreah.

Wow diver... thats interesting. Why you might say well because after literally years of acid reflux and being told that I had nothing wrong with me I persisted in say that there obviously was and guess what they finally found an hiatal hernia. So I was right all along then.I am now on Lansoprazole and Ranitadine.

During those years I also mentioned that I often got a pain in my left side but again the doctorsI saw and finally a Consultant dismissed this out of hand. So I assumed it was being cause either by running or my bike saddle height. That was until the beginning of Christmas when I started to notice blood on the tissue paper when I went to the loo. It is of cause very worrying and I have only been to see my doctor this morning and sheis going to send me for anothe colonoscopy as the previous one I had only looked at the lower part of the colon. Why didnt the examine the whole length the first time. Anyway what makes your question interesting is that before I could get to see the doctor over Christmas I was telling a friend of my problem and his wife said that it sounded like a problem her mum had once had and added that she also use to get a pain in her left side. Exactly where I get mine and she said it was called diverticulitis. A word I had never heard of until then and a word neither my doctors or Consultant has ever mentioned either. So this may be your problem too. Because they are now going to fast track me as it could be cancer I am of cause extremely worried but I am just holding onto the hope that rather tha being that it is divert.... I will let everyone know the outcome as soon as I do.Good luck.

Hello and thanks for your comments.

I also was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia along with the GERD diagnosis.

I am going to get in touch with my doctor to see if she can test for diverticulitis, just in case. Last night was the worse night yet with this pain.

And good luck with your results! Hopefully everything will be OK.
