IBS and Blood Pressure

I wondered if anyone had noticed a link between IBS and blood pressure? My blood pressure has varied a lot lately and over Christmas I was quite unwell re:IBS. Today I am fighting fit and relaxed and still my blood pressure is between 158 and 172 so as my blood pressure is higher than average could this be driving my IBS? Has anyone noticed a similar pattern?

I teally don"t know if there is a connection  but I have noticed that my IBS symptoms are more pronounced when my BP is raised. You may be onto something here.

My life revolves around finding patterns and I have found through tests my communication may be poor but my ability to spot patterns in data is well above average so thought I would start applying this thinking to my IBS which seems to be triggered my stress rather than food but also what causes stress and in my case it could be high blood pressure. This is all theory at the moment but I can have an elevated heart rate from just getting out of bed which is fairly unknown my doc says, especially in my age range and exercise regime. I try to walk about 16 miles a week.

This is an interesting question. I have not notice any link between IBS and HB. However, it would make sense that there are some links between the two, but I wouldn't presume definate. Reason being, like IBS, there are sooo many causes for it, and each individual case will be different. Just like HB, there are many factors that contributes to this, and personally I don't think we'll ever find a definitive answer, but it is an interesting topic.

I agree in theory it makes sense and like scientists analysts don't presume they look for patterns in data and then try to prove the reasoning hence why I have opened it to the floor to seek validation from those with more knowledge. For me though I am at my least stressed. I am not at work and away from my noisy neighbours so yesterday decided to run the experiment Operation BP. I took 5 readings with 10 minute intervals, just for fun. I have recorded the smallest and largest above. Thank you
