Unfortunately I don't think they can do anything for IBS anyway.  It's you researching what triggers it, to then try and avoid it.  It could be certain food or it could be stress.  It is real and it certainly ain't no winter bug!

I am mainly triggered by a sudden increase in stressful thoughts.

I've tried fighting it but it hasn't worked for me.

I just have to let it out of my system and grab the air freshionercheesygrinxxx

Stress is a common IBS trigger I believe.  We Fibro/ME sufferers are very good and getting stressed about everything, even when others wouldn't.  Sounds like you got very good reasons to be stressed.

Some say Fibro/ME symptoms are a cause of our particular bodies not being able to chemically deal with stress reactions the way non Fibro/ME bodies do. wink Bless our silly bodies.

first of all dont panic, i used to but it does and will make it worse.

you have to take control find out whats causing it it dosent happen with out a reason

rule out food types , see if its worse or better for certain types of food.

if you drink stop and see if this makes it better or worse.

reduce caffine go to decaff ,  i have to avoid caffine ,citrus fruits, tomatoes , garlic ,all onions ,hot milk, and anything spicey , total nightmare everything i love .

but its worth it , i also found that for me accupunture works well ,as did reflexolgy

and i also used a self hypnoises cd esp for calming i b s , ,which works really well.

i no stress of any kind ignites my symptoms , arguments, family upsets ,will have my stomach cramping with in minutes and me looking for a bathroom .

    so dont

under estamte what stress can do . avoid as much as poss and thru  a cd learn ways of coping with what you cant avoid . to lesson the impact of the symptoms.

good luck  try not to worry , get positive fight back .tian

anti depresants arent a long term solution they in many cases compond the problems.yes you can get them thats where i got mine from  .

just look for one that treats either axiety or one for i b s ..i got both. but you need  a self hypnosise one not just a relaxtion one .NANO GOLD is also very good supplement for depresion and general health to .

I had the same problem for years, in the end my doctor told me it was all in my head, so I cut out all food and drink except for bread and water for three days and added one thing a day until I discovered what the cause the cause was

Ha ha good one Shirley, the GP's do try their best to help us but cannot know all there is know about everything, so we have to try to help ourselves and do some detective work on our bodies, recently I went to my GP with a list if symptoms, he shrugged his shoulders and admitted that he bad no idea, I started my own discussion and discovered I have a sensitivity to flouride ie flouride poisoning, I have now eliminated all things containing flouride including tea and am a lot better, try the elimination process, you might get a pleasant surprise
