For 2 years I been having stomach troubles, had an endoscopy a year ago which showed inflamed stomach was given omperazole but it doesnt help, I suffer badly from nausea, was given Domperidone which helps a bit, then recently been told I have IBS was told to change from Omperazole to Esomperazole and take Colofac, thats been around 2 to 3 month ago, a week ago I stopped the pills as nothing was working , the only thing that is consistent throughout the time is the nausea, I thought maybe it was the Esomperazole that was causing it but I woke up this morning having awful nausea, dont want tore start the Esomperazole as it was doing anything but why do I get this nausea is it to do with the IBS , anyone help please x

    Hi Caroline,

I have Diverticulitis which are polyps in my intestines and they sometimes get full up with faeces especially after having endured a lot of stomach cramps which are like nausea, in fact they are ****** awful. I feel so debilitated during these cramps and have to push myself to get up and do things otherwise they will win. Sometimes these then get infected and I have to have anti biotics. If I take a couple of Fybogel sachets these cramps go away, so I would try Fybogel if I was you. You can get them on prescription or directly on the shelf in most chemists

I take Fybogel granules (extra fibre) twice a day after food plus mebeverine Hydrochloride 135mg tablets 3 times a day.

I take an orange flavoured Fybogel but you must drink it straight away after mixing it with water otherwise it quickly turns to a jelly and becomes horrible to drink. I also take Lanzaprazole because the amount of tablets I take creates too much stomach acid which in turn can also make you feel nauseous.

It is a question of balancing all these items and of course the type of food you eat.

I have always liked curries and other spicy foods but they don't like me now so I have to steer clear of them, so plenty of vegetables and fruit but don't overdo the fruit. Everything in moderation.

    Good Luck

    Alun.

Alun, I dont suffer from diaharra or constipation, I just need to go about 3 to 5 times a day, I also suffer from bloating and burning stomach, I feel ok sometimes but then all of the sudden I get  a burning stomach and bad nausea,, even when I was on the PPI it still happened, all I know is now I am off the Esomperazole  I dont seem to have slight twitches or bad headaches, I have ordered some Iberogast as have been told it is excellent for IBS, I stopped drinking Coke, dont eat curries also stopped above ground veg, I do appriecate your reply x

My husband and mum both suffer from IBS and they get nausea - it's not an explanation or a cure, but crystallised ginger eases it. Get it on the bakery aisle of supermarkets and chew a couple of pieces when it comes on. It does stop that awful throwing up feeling.

    Hello Caroline,

I posted a similar experience a few days ago. I have the same problems, I tried a lot of different medications without good results.

Did you have usual tests? (gastroscopy, etc.) Just to make sure you have nothing too serious.

Then, maybe you should try some small dose of Amitryptiline (a kind of anti-depressant), in accordance with your GP or gastroenterologist. For me it helped about nausea and bloating.

    Bye

      Hi Loic,

I am on Amitrypline 10mg for neck pain, yesterday I tried a Zantac god it gave me a blinding headache for which I still have today, I took one as I ate a ham salad sandwich for lunch and suffered all afternoon, not sure if it was the cucumber or small amount of tomato,I will not be continuing with anything other than Gavison advance, I also take Centaurium before meals which helps a bit butI have also ordered some Iberogast hoping and prayering it will help as well.

Hi Caroline! I see this discussion is from 4 years ago. I am now going through what you were. I have an endoscope in the morning, thank goodness. Just wondering if your problem ever resolved and if so, how? I’m so so tired of not feeling well! Thank you!
