IBS anyone?

Hi ladies, wondered if anyone else is getting worsened IBS because of peri. I used to suffer terribly with IBS as a kid due to stress but as I got older It got less and less, nowadays its a very rare occurance until a couple of days ago when it returned with a vengeance, Im not stressed out so its not that, maybe somthing ive eaten but doubtful as its not getting better so has to be hormones right? It just seems strange that this coincides with my pain coming back, hips, lower back, itching and a bit of an angry head. Ive been recently getting indegestion/acid reflux to and rarely get it. I have to think its hormones or ill b worrying myself sick ive got cancer 😭

I have only had a few days break from periods this month. I didn't have a period for two months so I am hoping this is a last hurrah. I am done. People I have talked too have told me that I am starting the final transition until full meno. Crossing fingers. I turn 50 this month and been going through peri for the last decade with it really ramping up when I turned 45. I am truly over it.

I have IBS because I have lupus. IBS, Cystitis, Lupus go together. I was diagnosed with IBS when I was a child. Back then it was called a spastic colon. Yes, since Peri it has really ramped up. Now, it seems like a daily thing and not flare ups.

My stomach has a birth defect so I have Gerd too. When I was in my teen years through my thirties my stomach issues were so much better. Nobody told me Peri would hit your stomach as one of the first symptoms. I sure didn't know about the stomach estrogen connection. Now, I feel like a little girl again with all my bad stomach & bowel issues.

Yes so true my peri seems to be ramping up now with all the stomach issues, pain in tendons, indegestion etc and I feel exactly the same like I have my childhood issue back again although i do seem to be having an IBS free day today so im crossing all my fingers and toes that it was to do with switching to brown bread these last few weeks or some dodgy yoghurt(my fridge went off all day) I hope so as really cant be doing with my childhood stomach issues back

i can tell when my estrogen is super high as my ibs and gastritis come back, also currently on day 5 of a migraine, sure glad i did my research and didnt take the estrogen the doctor gave me x

yeah seems mine is high mainly then to, so whats the answer then if your estrogen is high how do you lower it? So hrt isnt the answer. My stomach still doesn't feel right but the worst of the IBS seems to have gone for now. Im better having white than brown bread it seems, if that was the cause, may be high estrogen like you say, but its always bloated and gurgling.

im going to try the progesterone only pill, been reading lots and it seems that progesterone falls in peri so thats why estrogen seems high (its not balanced) x

i will do, i wanted the natural one but apparently they only give that when you take estrogen too, go figure! anyway the one they gave me contains soya so i have a consultation tomorrow x
