IBS attack, sciatica, and leg weakness

I've noticed recently that sometimes during an IBS attack my legs (glutes/hams) feel kind of... weak, is the best i can describe it. Almost shaky, but not quite . . .

i also have sciatica at the moment due to a herniated L5/S1, which can cause both weakness in legs and loose stools. But I'm trying to figure out if i need to go to my Ortho to discuss the sciatica or my G.I. doc to discuss the IBS... Has anyone else noticed odd feelings (weakness/pain) in their legs during an IBS attack?

    Hi Kathryn,

I don't get pain but I do get weakness in my legs before, during and after bowel movements. My legs feel really unsteady and like they won't hold me. This subsides about 15-30 minutes after the bm, really weird
