Hi all I need some advice please the drs say I have pi ibs but the diagnosis doesn't fit (or maybe it does I'm not sure lol)

So I have had

1x full bloods high infection

2x internal all clear

2x stomach inspection all clear

1x 2nd full blood all clear

1x ca125 test all clear

10x drs appointments

This all started when I came back from honeymoon it has got better but symptoms now are

Cramping in the morning relieved by bowel movement normaly diaroer

Ok for a fe hours then a 2nd load of diaroer

This seems to clear it up and then another cramping session before bed and diaroer.

Random nausea

Terrible wind at night the sounds of them wake me up and husband 🙈

On a bad day can go 5 times on a good day 3 sometime poo can be formed and normal but that's usually the evening.

I always have a tummy ache not bad just a full ache if that makes sense.

I also have anxiety and depression and take sertraline for this.

It never wakes me up no cramping or anything there is no blood In stool or when I wipe but there is mucus which looks like little bits of onion skin.

Can anyone please relate it's ruining my life I worry constantly about it.

Please help

Don't worry, all these symptoms fit with IBS especially feeling relief after a bowel movement.  Everyone experiences IBS differently.  Accept your diagnosis and trust your doctor because all your tests are negative.  Try distraction techniques such as a hobby and exercise. Ask your doctor for a stronger anti anxiety medication or higher dose.  If you are still anxious, your meds may not be working.  If you have been on them for a while you may have developed an immunity to them. Ask about CBT and gut targeted hypnosis to tackle your anxiety and IBS. Controlling your anxiety is key to feeling better.  Diagnosis acceptance will help you greatly.  The more you worry and doubt, the more flare ups you will get.  My IBS diagnosis cured my health anxiety immediately and my symptoms improved.

    Hi I can relate

I have ibs Pi most likely

5 months ago I contracted semonella - poo sample confirmed

Ever since stools never been normal ie one solid formation

Every morning have to rush to the toilet

For first few months and still randomly very soft stools

Now I have small pieces forming sometimes they float I have pencil stools too at times

I am a nervous wreck as I just want things to go back to normal

I am on lexapro and it's helping a bit but still not really stopping the anxiety.

You've had all the tests so be reassured okay.

Stay off lactose and wheat products. Also alcohol.

    The fodmap diet may help.

    Goodluck I so relate

Thank you made me feel a bit less alone with it I am so fed up of always feeling ill. Will have a chat with my dr about upping my sertraline if things don't look better.

Thank you so much 😊 never been so obsessed with poo before lol

    Enjoy the sunshine

I used to get obsessed with poo when I was undiagnosed.  However, once my symptoms were explained to me fully. this worry cleared up.  There are many people with IBS struggling with their symptoms; you're not the only one.  Another option is to ask to be referred to an iBS clinic.  They will spend more time with you and tailor treatment to your specfic symptoms and give you coping mechanisms.

My dr is obsessed with treating the anxiety rather than the ibs I have noticed a few things help so will persevere. It's a viscous cycle I worry all the time about my bowels and this in turn makes them worse lol think my husband wants to throttle me lol xx

Treating your anxiety is crucial to treating your IBS because once your anxiety is controlled, your IBS will get better so it is good your doctor is concentrating on this.
