Hi noctilz, to think in this day and age you are allowed to be treated like this! You must ask for a second opinion with another doctor, or speak to the manager. This sounds like IBS and maybe gastritis, which causes all the acidity. You need certain things doing to rule out why your stomach and bowel don't work right. Puf your foot down, it's only taken me 12 years to have a camera to prove the original diagnosis of IBS, which was inconclusive is maybe wrong. I am due to have it in 10 days and today and last night i have felt really ill! Good luck with it let us know how you get on. Lots of people are the real experts on here.

i had both these procedures done as well all they found was acid reflux, hemorriods and IBS I know nothing about IBS but am having bad digestive issue going on a year and its to the point where i cant breath sometimes, i have a strong feeling its acid reflux causing it, cold sweats these makes me very depressed and very anxious because am always feeling like am gonna die because of all these issues i just dont know what to do anymore all these test has been run and still nothing am trying to accept its acid reflux combine with IBS but its hard especially when it messes with my mental state and lots of physical symptoms, i even had my gallbladder removed because i was constantly sick and it was messing with my liver but some syptoms sticked around, all am trying to do is eat better and hopefully it would be gone and sometimes that hard because food is my trigger, i would advice you to get a second opinion dont stop until u gets answers same thing am doing

IBS doesn't show on tests and acid reflux goes along with it. Try to accept your diagnosis and you will start to feel a lot better. When I accepted my IBS diagnosis, my symptoms and anxiety got better. Anxiety makes IBS worse; try to stay as calm as possible. Antispasmodics/painkillers, laxatives or lots of fruit or Imodium if you get diarrhoea will help.

Hi Noctilz. I have got the same symptoms as you and have had them several times over the last few years. Each flare up lasts about 12 weeks and even though I recognise the symptoms, I still panic and convince myself I'm dying of something! I've had all the tests, which have ruled out anything serious. My consultant says I have IBS with indigestion - my trigger is hormones and peri menopause. I get stabbing pain and cramps that appear anywhere from low down in my pelvis to under my ribs and chest. It sometimes feels like a big ball of gas moving around and I have terrible flatulence and a bloated stomach. My constipation has given me piles and I have pain in my bum and a feeling that I need to poo. I feel pretty rubbish everyday until it goes. But, it does go and I can have months before it comes back. I have been prescribed Omeprazole and Buscopan which does help. I also have to be really careful with what I eat and when - nothing after 6pm or else I will be up in the night with pain. I was advised not to have mint tea so instead I have tumeric tea (it is meant to reduce inflammation). It sounds like you are having a flare up and that stress is your trigger. I really hope that you find a way of managing your symptoms until they go. As unpleasant as it is, knowing that it is nothing that can kill you, hopefully, will remove some of the anxiety that the symptoms bring. Good luck. x

I am unclear what you are saying. Did your doctor suggest/diagnose IBS? Normal tests would suggest it. Anxiety and indigestion play a large part in IBS. If you haven't been diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, ask your doctor if he thinks you have it. It doesn't sound like simple referred pain..Your bowel habit changes, gas, bloating, ,pain, stress and anxiety point to IBS. Keep asking your doctor to get a definitive diagnosis.

hey pippa sorry for the misunderstanding so in august last year after my colonoscopy his notes read: normal terminal ileum and colon- random colon biposies were taken to rule out microscopic colitis.( which came back negative as well as celiac disease. last note says internal hemmoroids and colonscopy again in 10 years. didnt mention ibs he said i have functional pain. so not sure if me bloated and idigestion is from stress and pain as well. thats why i was curious if i may have ibs. thanks for replying.

IBS is a functional condition which means that nothing is wrong with the structure of the bowel, hence the negative tests. He may telling you that you have IBS in different words. There are quite a few ways to describe IBS. Anxiety, indigestion , bloating, and pain are symptoms of IBS.
