Hi All,

So i had instance 2 months ago where i had the feeling i had to go to the bathroom at a  restaurant and caused a slight anxious moment and from that time on its being on my mind on and off. During that time, my work was going throught org changes but its happened before and i had not worries before. Its been an up and down ride for me. I was good for while and had a set back last week where i had a panic attack driving to an appt

Furthermore, I just started seeing a counselor for CBT and been seeing a GP. I've been getting spasm feeling in the anus (not always)and was just prescribed  dicetel. I was thinking of clean the area myself and he suggested sitting in a warm bath salts. Funny thing is that once I'm out I'm fine but its the thought of going out initially that triggers the nervous stomach. My heart starts to race and start to tense up.  Just trying to figure out if its a mental thing or something physically wrong with me. I've lost over 15 lbs since this started as i dont feel like eating because my mind says if i eat then i have to go the bathroom

Sounds like anxiety. The "moment" as you call it has played on your mind so now you have had a ppanic attack driving to an appointment....not good. You need some help. Get an appointment with your doctor and talk it through I'm sure you just need something to calm you down.

This could be IBS or something else. Whatever it is stress will not help.

Try some deep breathing to help yourself calm down.

You could check things out with a doctor then atleast you would knw what the problem is.

    Take care

This is exactly how I feel! Somehow the symptoms never show when I'm at home alone yet knowing I have to go out bring about these painful spasms and a need to use the bathroom. My diet is now very limited because I'm afraid certain foods cause it but your question is making me wonder if its my constantly thinking of it that causes it. Personally, I'd advise you get your doctor to check, they'll make you do a faecal test probably to test for abnormalities in the tut, then hopefully they can help you any which way they can smile

    Hi All,

Just an update. I have a GI appt in mid May as thats the earliest. I was doing well lately but had a anxiety attack at work. I was prepping for a meeting that i was chairing when it hit  me. I think it started to build up. i was worried that i cant get out of the meeting if i need to go to the bathroom which caused it ( earlier in the day i went and the stool was really loose) . So my mgr had to call first aid to come assist and i did calm down as i was talking to them. I went to see my  GP and he told me to go see a counselor which I'm already doing so. i did get hemmoroids which help trigger the sensation of needing to go to the bathroom so that factored in probably with this issue as well. i got meds for it and its taken the sensation  away.so thats dealt with. Taking one step at a time to figure this out. I wast taking Dicetel for a week but caused bloated, dizziness, nausea so i stopped that and started taking metamucil which help my stool to form more rather than a loose stool.

    HI again.

Just another update. Things have been going well.Had a 4 day long weekend. I actually went out one day without worrying and it felt good. i had some anxious moments but pleasant thoughts and breathing helped as I was out the whole day . I'm more confident going out now and not worrying about any bathrooms as much .  But still worrying a bit  about the work week ahead and what not. I was thiinking about taking some sick leave but that will be like step back. I think the stress and anxiety cause me to get the piles/hemmoroids because of the tensing in my stomach and in the bottom. I do feel better but will take one day at a time! Its all in your head!
