Have you checked whether you have the symptoms for cfs (chronic fatigue syndrome) or Fibromyalgia? Ibs can be a symptom of other things. Stress does make ibs a lot worse. The more you worry the worse your symptoms will get. Find something to keep your mind focused elsewhere. I knit and crochet. Don't need as many pain meds and helps with the stress and worry.

That was my next thought fibro or chronic but getting any sort of diagnosis is nia on impossible. Its the constant fatigue that's such a drain I have even dropped a day at work.

Hi Richard, have you had any of scans or tests done by your Docs?

If so perhaps it might be advantageous to put the results down here for others to read.

If you have had tests done and nothing has come up, perhaps I could guide you towards the page on Food/General Health on Nature's Physician Global Health Mission site. At the bottom of the page there are some Links that could be of interest to you.

Sometimes medication just pauses or freezes the issue but on the other hand sometimes medication can make issues worse.

Perhaps, as I said before if you type up the results from your Docs it would be handy for all so that they could guide you further.

In the meantime, drink plently of cooled boiling water and stay off Gluten , Beef, Lamb and red foods such as carrots, red peppers and full fat dairy products.

    Hi Richard,

Have you had any scans? Bloods? Or stool tests?

If you have a look at any of my threads you will see I'm suffering the same. And have the same anxiety and fears. There are a group of us that have similar symptoms with no diagnosis.

    Sorry you are suffering too.

How bad is the pain? Is it related to food? Or types of food? Does it ease if you pass wind or go to the loo? What are your stools like?

Stools vary seems yo be after food will keep better tack just know its there

It could be IBS. But it depends on your pain location and triggers. A good sign of something being wrong is your stools. If you think it's something more, an ultrasound of your abdomen or a stool test for enzymes or inflammation would help with diagnosis or to rule out potential other causes.

Hi, how long have you had this? I have had left sided pain left of my tummy button for months now. Always in the same place. Drs say IBS but I thought that was all over the tummy. I have bloating too sometimes. Have you been told it's IBS? Can be a dull ache.

Have you had any investigations? I want to know it definitely is IBS. I have it most days at the moment and I try to ignore it but can't. I'm seeing Dr later to ask for tests to check all ok. Trouble is Dr will prob say don't worry it's IBS!!

I had severe abdominal pains for about a year, had the usual tests, but then I was put on Amitriptyline at night which has eliminated the pain except when I get stressed. I take 20 mg at night, u haven't said what dosage u take so it may be worth asking if u can increase the Amitriptyline.

On 50mg pal I pretty much go straight to sleep after taking so don't wake up with the pain.
