Several things are possible. You may have an upset stomach after the antibiotics ; try some yoghurt to help rebuild your good gut flora.Sometimes, after an infection, IBS can develop which can cause urinary problems in some people. Have these symptoms cleared up? If they have, I wouldn't concern yourself about it. However, if you are still getting symptoms and they have gone on longer than a week, see your doctor to get answers.

this has been going on for weeks but gp isnt doing anything. she says i could have cystoscopy but dont rush into it. thinks the urine sample will be clear. but iim not well and my long term anxiety is huge over it all.

I would ask for the cystoscopy to relieve your anxiety. Tell your doctor you need this test to reassure you. Emphasize how bad your anxiety is. If you are worried about celiac, ask for a blood test to check for it. An endoscopy also detects it.

i have had bloods done this week. dr is not keen on cystoscopy thinks its my central nervous system. im scared of endoscopy too. would coeliac disease cause bladder problems.

Some people with gluten sensitivity experience bladder problems.Ask for a celiac blood test to see if you have it.

ibs and uti? OMG, tell me about it! your ibs goes whappy after uti's! well that's until i was diagnosed with coeliac disease. sorry i shouldn't comment on here, i have the wrong diagnosis.

well, i have to say i was wondering about whether it could be something like that but dr hasnt checked. how do you know if it is coeliac, can a blood test check? I HAVE BEEN UP 8 times in night with nocturia, uti pain at bay since bowel emptied last night. i have massive anxiety though.

when you get a chance get in to a doctors and insist on seeing someone else. if your bladder is that bad ask for an emergency doctors as soon as you can!

not a uti, dr suspects irritable bladder so going down urology route. i want other tests but nhs wont do them. cost too much they say. are you in us?

hi anne, it may sound really basic but have you tried cystitis relief?

    • Posted

i dont think i have cystitis as i have no stinging, no blood. just low ache and frequency at night. what cystitis relief do you refer to, theyve tried antibiotics

have you been tested for a bladder infection? ask to be!

oh dear, that's not greatest thing to hear. i think the infection moved possibly into your bladder that can sometimes happen - you are diagnosed with a uti and it ends up being in your bladder. that happened to me!
