Hi there
My doctor gave me some mebeverine for ibs, it works so amazing for the ibs but the problem is that it makes me feel so tired , I cant believe how tired, I have never felt like this before I just wonder does tiredness go away with time, As i have being only on it for a week, its making my job a nighmare As my job is very hard work. i would love to hear from other people who have tried this medicine.

Hi Jacinta, have tried merbeverine & it certainly helps but only ise it occassionally for pain
& spasm.Haven't noticed any tiredness.Maybe you could try it overnight & see if it has any good carry over effects during the day.I find that if I use it much can cause constipation & as it's so expensive tend to limit anyway.Hope this info. helps.

I would stop this medication; there are so many people who have problems with it. There is no point in it if it is affecting your job. Ask your doctor for something else. It is a very toxic drug; I came off it within 4 days because it gave me terrible indigestion and constipation.Within minutes of taking the first tablet, it felt like I had swallowed a pebble. My chemist told me how good these tablets were! Sadly, it was not the case. The doctor shouldn't have given it to me because it is for IBS D and not IBS C. It did not help my IBS. Buscopan is so much better. It helped my IBS with no side effects. You are better off on a drug that helps your IBS with no bad reactions. I saw a different doctor from the one who prescribed Mebeverine and he was very understanding and noted down the problems I had with it. IBS is bad enough without toxic medication on top

There are other medications as well as Buscopan that may be better. In my experience, doctors prescribe a medication that isn't suitable first but which brings them in more money. I only knew about Buscopan because my brother was prescribed it for his IBS and it worked.

DON'T take mebeverine, lots of people will tell you how bad it is! please go back to your doctors and very soon. i swore i would never take it again because i reacted so badly. good luck and sorry to be so negative!
