Do you belong to a gym? Walking on the treadmill or using the stationary bike are great exercises for your rehab. I also had a bunch of exercises that my physical therapist gave me that kept me busy for about 1/2 a day. good luck.

whoops meant to say 1/2 hour each day, not 1/2 of the day.

Hi Jo,
first I like to say wow to 2 Miles. Think thats amazing.
I am ca 5 weeks post OP and I am lucky if I can do 1 km.
So you should be very proud of your self.
I am still in pain and I am on a lot of painkillers etc. and I am still on 2 crutches outside.
It does stop me to go out when its wet as the crutches are very slippy.
I think you are doing really well.
you may need to walk back and forwards at home. Thats the only thing I could think of or if you would have a stationary bike in the house which you could use.

Hi Jo
I would echo getting a stationary bike. After my THR I saw a major leap in fitness and flexibility after I got back into road cycling - starting of with 5-6miles twice weekly then building up to longer distances more frequently.
If you don't have one, you can pick up a stationary bike or even one of these simple floor mounted pedal devices fairly cheaply. If you already have a bicycle you could look into getting what the keen road cyclists call a turbo trainer - the rear wheel of your bike sits on some rollers where the resistance can be varied. There are some fairly cheap versions of these also.
Whatever you do keep up the exercising - there's no substitute to aid your recovery

In same place myself Jo. Do supermarket walk in big Tesco near me...know it is not enough but not much choice really this time of year.
Have had to ask for lifts tho....

A treadmill or a recliner exercise bike (flatter seat below, so better for us hippies) would be excellent if you can get access to either.
