If You Are Disabled and living in the UK then you must read this!

Remember, this is what the Tories have brought to our country!

And they want your vote in the next General Election

A national day of action has been called on March 2nd 2015 against Maximus, the company set to take over from Atos running the despised Work Capability Assessments (WCAs) for sickness and disability benefits.

These crude and callous assessments have been used to strip benefits from hundreds of thousands of sick and disabled people after a quick computer based test ruled them ‘fit for work’.  A growing number of suicides have been directly linked to this stressful regime, whilst charities, medical staff and claimants themselves have warned of the desperate consequences for those left with no money at all by the system.

In a huge embarrassment for the DWP, the previous contractor Atos were chased out of the Work Capability Assessments after a sustained and militant campaign carried out by disabled people, benefit claimants and supporters.  In a panicky effort to save these vicious assessments Iain Duncan Smith hired US private healthcare company Maximus to take over from Atos this coming April.

This is not the only lucrative contract the Tories have awarded this company.  Maximus are also involved in helping to privatise the NHS, running the Fit for Work occupational health service designed to bully and harass people on sick leave into going back to work.  Maximus also run the notorious Work Programme in some parts of the UK, meaning that disabled people found fit for work by Maximus may then find themselves sent on workfare by Maximus.  There is no greater enemy to the lives of sick and disabled people in the UK today than this multi-national poverty profiteer who even are prepared to run welfare-to-work style schemes for the brutal Saudi Arabian government.

Maximus have boasted they will not face protests due to their involvement in the Work Capability Asessments and have even stooped as low as hiring one prominent former disability campaigner on a huge salary in an effort to quell protests against their activities.  We urgently need to show them how wrong they are and call for all disabled people, benefit claimants and supporters to organise against this vicious bunch of profiteering thugs.

Please organise in your local area and spread the word.

Maximus are likely to use the same assessment centres as Atos whilst a list of their premises which provide (privatised) healthcare services can be found below, and a list of Maximus offices where they provide welfare-to-work services can be found below that.

In Central London protesters will gather outside Maximus HQ on  at 1pm or 1.30pm. Level 1 Quuen Anne’s Gate, London SW1H 9BU, just round the corner from the DWP.

Look out for online action to be called on the same day.

this goverment wont stop hitting hard till they have no nhs and next to no one on bennifit . 4 people in the last few weeks have jumped from bridges on yorkshire railways one somehow still alive.

and although this is common this time of year on the railaway this yr has been noted to have been exceptionly bad .

i have my bennifit coming up for renewal in june and my son to we are both aspergers and i also have fibro as well none of which can be seen  so theres little chance we will get it . i shall look out for anything to do with protesting in my area .

but i doubt it will do any good . we are just cannon fodder .when they wanted the employment figures to look better they put so many long term unemployed on to dissabillity bennifit because they dont show as unemployed but now the goverment are in crisis they want to take it away from those in need .

desgusting . and bloody unfair .  i baked two cakes yesterday and today my back is aching so bad i can hardly bare it just from mixing in the flour .sounds so stupid but its true . sitting standing or even lying down for any lenght of time causes pain

and when the fatigue hits its crippling i fall asleep standing up talking on the phone

how on earth will i get a job .mad

This is very frightening! I almost wish I hadn't read it but it's better to be aware of what's coming. We can only hope that the Conservatives are voted out in the coming election.

I'm going to vote strategically. I'm a member of the Green party but this time I'm voting Labour because they're more likely to get the Conservatives out!
    • Posted

Will they be any better?  Most parties promise a lot - not one of them stick to there promises.  For the last 20 years, has any government really done a lot for the "common" people?

Things got very bad very rapidly when the Conservatives got in. Under the Labour government things were much better for sick and disabled people, and they'll be under public scrutiny about disability so yes I'm very confident that they'll be better for us.

i dont trust either party hun labour aint the party it used to be.neutral

well hun lets face it we havnt had a world war for decades ,they have to get rid of people some how. cutting bennifits ,and closing hospitals is a good plan for getting rid of cannon fodder , now we dont have wars to do it.

i no this is negative but trust me there is population control whether we like it or not. and the easiest people to get rid of is the sick and the poor .

The common people, Constance? That is amost the entire poulation of Britain, almost all the voters in this psuedo democracy.

The way I see it is if David Cameron and his party are left in control, then Britain will become even worse than it already is, figures in the media are not to be trusted, the media is only giving us one side of the story. But Conservatives and Cameron have been lying for years.

There was a video on YouTube which showed Cameron talking before becoming PM, back then he stated he would pull Britain out of the EU. Did that ever happen? NO... He even went to the extent last year to get that video removed because it made his own party look like liars, but what happened when he tried this - he failed because the puiblic that had saved the video re-uploaded it in many places just to make sure it stayed on the internet and in public view.

Cheltenham & Gloucester hospitals were on a major alert not so long ago, ambulances were all over the county, and the routes were being changed as they were speeding towards one call from another. Then you had Swindon, whom had to put up a tent in the cold weather and use it as a temporary ICU!! ...And yet Cameron still insisted that this country was managing fine with the NHS hospitals. Somehow I do not he would like to be in an ICU in a tent for a few days. He has tried to cover up a lot of things, but it does not stop there at all.

Cover ups go far deeper than what the media is letting on, one of which was Hampshire last November whom had 250 vacancies for paramedics - did it reach the news 'NO', it was kept quiet. And, now there are many "whistleblowers" going out of their way to get their stories told, because they have been threatened not to do so. There are emails around, that when traced back to their original origins are actual places mentioned in the emails themselves, thus showing the true identity of organizations involved.

As disabled and old people alike, have to put up with the likes of the Tories, ripping this country apart. You may wonder what's next in the Conservatives objectives...simple, more attacks on the disabled and the OAP's - This time (if they get re-elected!) they plan to Tax Disabled Living Allowance and PIP!!!! What comes after this I don't know, one thing is for sure, many disabled people are planning mass protests, even in wheelchairs and with the cold weather!

All the Conservatives think about is ways of making themselves richer and the poorer. But it is not just the poor that is effected, the disabled and OAP's are also in the same bracket - again, he picks on us!

Cameron is losing more battles than he can cope with these days! It's only been a month now since he tried getting 'Takedown' notices to certain websites to protect kids and adults looking at illegal material, what happened, he got refused in the High Court! Other takedowns from all other countries were granted and Google removed millions of links of movies and music, all website 'Takedown' notices failed.

Cameron did 'do well' getting 93 websites blocked from the UK, so the public cannot access them, well that's what he thought. On the same day numerous websites appeared carrying the same information! Needless to say, Cameron lost again! Perhaps if he had lessons on how the internet works he would have known that you cannot block websites from Internet Service Providers - the only legitimate way is getting a 'Takedown' Notice enforced - but this only works if the websites you are viewing are on land.... some are that clever they have webservers, operating off-shore up on ships!

The way Britain stands at the moment, and what Cameron is not telling us, plus all of Taxes that he will enforce and the lies up on lies, leaves me with only one party that I will not vote for, "Conservatives". The money they make and lose in a day is ridiculous.... He gives Tax-payers money away, and fails to look after his own country!

I am willing to stand corrected, but all this information is actually posted around the internet!!

      Regards,

      Les.

what really gets me mad is the cost of implicating the changes in the bennifit system millions of pounds , the cost will take over 10 yrs to recover if at all

before making any savings on bennifits, mean while people will suffer .

the only reason it was done is so that the knobs who feel hard done by. will give the party there vote . its a vote winner .

the problem is where there are people swindling the bennifits they wont get caught they no the system

its the honest ones with real problems seen or other wise that will get caught up in it and loose there bennifits. people in real need.

just like the other great idea goverment had some yrs back about making absent fathers pay , excellant idea but the only ones that got caught up in it was the ones already paying because they could dock there wages at source . pardon my french  the arseholes who were not working in any set place or living any where permently still got away with it.

so another great idea that cost a fortune and didnt work properly

As I said I'm a member of the Green party. I might not trust the other parties but the one I loathe and despise is in power messing with mine and my son's lives and I want them out and any way possible I'll go for.

Labour is our best change and they're not as bad. I know me and my boy were treated a heck of a lot better when they were in, and we didn't keep hearing about this many suicides through benefits being cut. Phew I don't think I breathed in then, what a rant! lol

i agree with you labour is slightly better but i still dont trust them .

i think i will have to agree to differ .

old labour 100% a working mans party .100%believed in them .

this lot are to me wolfs in sheeps clothing . confused

I utterly agree, except that there are wars going on and we send cannon fodder still.

A turnip in a suit would do better! lol At least there'd be less damage being done.

yes they join by choice so i dont really class them as cannon fodder .both w wars you had no choice , you went when you were told , infact the main reason ww1 ended as you proberly know was the spanish flu which wiped out more people than the actul war a real pandemic .frown

I get a lot of information from websites, working whistleblowers that have had enough of this countries politics, which you can't blame them. One such organization even denied an email they sent out saying any public, or media attention will get you in serious trouble.

Thats how bad this government is, and it goes on in places than you can imagine. Conservative Britain has had its day, Cameron has proved to everyone that he is the worst PM in history. He has made this country worse, and what people don't know what he has up his sleeve if he gets back in, will only make it even more so.

Iain Ducan Smith saying he could live on £57.00 a week, that is totally impossible. Unless he has no abode and loses his suits and lives in the slums that the Tories have made worse.

Again, we are still under EU laws and look how much that costs the tax payer, Cameron gives in to all the EU throws at him. He has lost so much this year already and we are only 16 days in to January! Don't ever trust a Tory....is the latest saying and it looks that way. He his losing High Court Battles, because as soon as is name is mentioned no one wants to know, or listen to what comes out of his mouth! Nick Clegg trying to back him is just making him look as bad.

University fees, which are currently around £3,000, Okay, who put it up that figure Cameron!  What happens if Cameron gets back in as PM again? That's easy, he's already said he will put it up to £10,000!!!

How much does this guy just give away to other countries including rich countries like China... Yes, he even givves them tax-payers money!!

    • Posted

they always will be the rich party they ruined this country with maggie

selling of loads of council houses with the promise to re invest in more houses only thing is they never kept there promise surprize surprize

now we have a housing crisis nearly as bad as the 1960s .

this is allowing private slum landlords back in thru the back door . with the death rate from faulty appliances already rising .

made up jobs that do not pay a decent living wage , loads of part jobs ,very few full time esp in retail .

my daughter has to live on £116 A WEEK  part time. out of this she has to pay most of her rent and rates her bills , and fares to work , if it wasnt for us her parents she would never do it

mad,we buy most of her groceries and furnished most of her flat . dont even get me started on zero hours all just to make it look like the job market is growing when all of us can clearly see  this is it not true . nothing they do is for us . its to do with votes and money.mad

Standard university fees are 9 thousand a year (this is an American pc and I don't have a pound sign), somewhat less with Open University fees.

      Dear Tiswas,

Have you any evidence that politicians are sensible? The next election does seem to motivate them but is there any evidence that even that induces good sense?

      George

Well, if we live past WWIII - I might vote! lol  It was announced on twitter by hackers that they were planning a huge attack that would start Word War III by cyber attacks...

What you see in movies these days is not far from reality! Too close in fact!

No rant that Georgia. Just bad breathing control. Do the polititians really consider the adverse effect they have on people? I do not think they are capable of such assssments. They just spin their web of words and hope to have a very well (over) paid job after the election. I do not trust any of them.mad

(I managed to keep breathing Georgia, so it can be done biggrin )

Thank you George, I'll bear it in mind next time I rant! lol
