If you can run from this procedure

I have the best thoracic surgeon in the US at Brigham and Women's in Boston. I had a trial of the nerve stimulator for post thoracotomy pain syndrome. My legs went numb so bad I almost called 911. Could not move after turning it on to go into the post office. Put wires in my body??? Take the fast track to hell.

    Wish to God I would have. I have so many problems don`t know what to do and of course the people who put it in have never heard of this happening to anyone. Must be something else causing the problems: leg weakness. Pain up and down whole back. Breathing problems. stomach protruded.bowells not working same and lower stomach muscles gone All started day of implant trial.

      Really!! I was told to turn it off when driving. I got to the post office that day and I felt nothing from my mid chest down. I'm going crazy. I can't drive like that then I remembered to pull the wires out of the external box and the feeling came back.

      I went home , called my MD and insisted the trial to stop and wires out. 30 minutes later I was at the office and the rest was stopped.

      As soon as I sat up at trial implant I was nauseated and had pinching in neck area. I mentioned it and doc and nurse couldnt explain nausea and thought maybe pinching was stiff or tight muscles. So I thought ok. My pain level was 0 for pain I had trial for, so I was thrilled. To make a short story it kept getting worse. Had severe muscle spasms forseveral days and pain top of esophagus and terrible acid coming up plus dizzy and shortness of breath. Kept calling PM office and they said all was coincidence was not from procedure. I said that was a mighty coincidence. This went of for a month till I had to go to ER. Had MRI done after they checked heart. The above was what the report said. Mind you, I had not.had ANY back trouble till now. Still looking for answers. Would appreciate all inpute thanks. Cant believe so many of these are done with such lack of knowledge.

      PS. This one was very painful. I had a trial about 15 years ago and did not mind it that bad just took long time(4to5 hours)

    I hear you on that, I have the Nevro hf10 and they turned mine on for vibration and let me tell you the pain was so unbearable that I turned it off and I felt vibration after and muscles that didn't hurt now hurt so bad. So I know where you are coming from, and i now my right foot and leg are numb. I don't think these reps know what they are doing they are going to end up hurting someone bad.

      It has already happened. I wish I had known the real risk before hand, I would have ran! Medtronic and PM doctor never explained that. I think my lower left spine has shrunk ,muscles, and lost feeling in lower bowell. Can't get doctor to find this. Only spondlelosis.

      It's crazy how pm doc and the Rep's do not explain what can happen, I mean really happen, they just act like it won't happen you so why tell us what a major risk we are taking, it's like it's not their bodies so why tell us anything which I feel is wrong cause I WOULD NEBER EVER IN A THOUSAND YEARS WOULD I GOT THIS SCS IMPLANTED IN ME, NEVER MIND THE BATTERY PUSHING OUT OF MY BACK CAUSING MORE PAIN IN MY BACK IN LEGS BUT TO HAVE A REVISION SURGERY AND WAS TOLD IT WOULDN'T BE TURNED BACK ON TO FIND THE DR AND REP SPLIT AFTER THAT PAINFUL REVISION SURGERY TO END UP WITH AN INFECTION AND COULDN'T MOVE, THEY ARE DIRTY DOCTORS AND REP'S THAT LIKE TO PUSH PATIENTS INTO SOMETHING THAT WILL NIT WORK. IM SO ANGRY !!! THATS WHY IM IN CAPS LOL ITS SO FRUSTRATING AND I KNOW ALOR OF US ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THE SURGERY OR THE WAY YOU ARE TREATED AFTERWARDS, I've been asking to see my Dr for over 6 months now and finally I get to see him in October, UGH they make you wait til you want to pull all your hair out I don't know how many times I have cried from being frustrated at the Drs office.

      You are spot on ..It is our bodies suffering to line pockets big.. it is about the company, reps, and docs keeping these complaints under wrap that is why I will start putting every sympton down in writing so they can not say we ne er heard of that or you never complained earlier.. I think, how does are government not know of real facts and look into thse procedures being exlplained minimul "noninvasive" surgery!! Needed to vent. Maybe right people will see these posts one day? Don't give up... any of you!

      I hope so!! I wish they can find out what we are all going through and not being told very little on this procedure! It's like we are all being lied too, from the doctor's to the Rep's from all the companies putting in these units!! We all need to stay strong and maybe do something a petition or something, we don't know how many ppl have had worse things happen to them, maybe paralyzed, i hope not but we don't know.

      Stay strong!! And hopefully some relief from our pains and aches!!
