If you rip off a bandaid too hard can it cause petechiae?

I had a band aid on the elbow part of my forearm and when i took it off the other day, i ripped it off really fast, and then these little red dots showed up. I'm pretty sure its just bruising from ripping off the band aid to hard and i read that the term for it is called petechiae. However i also read that it can also be associated with cancer. Should i be worried?
