IgA Nephropathy newly diagnosed

good day,
just looking for people's experiences with this disease. my husband has been recently diagnosed with this condition. he's 35 y.o. the specialist has assured us that it's not as scary as we think it is but not knowing enough bout this disease still stresses me out. can anyone who's had this share there insights as well as things they've done to improve their kidney function? diet changes? what best to eat or take? -will taking vitamins help? what vitamins or supplements are good? and what medication did your specialist put you on?
would really appreciate feedbacks.
thanks!

Dear Jeanne and husband,
The implications of this may seem frightening. But no doubt you will recover from this. I had Nephrotic Syndrome in 2014 - 2018 I had to take dialysis for six months with no hope of recovery. But I did recover, and last year the specialist said : No point in coming here again, everything is normal . Firstly just do what the doctor or practise nurse advises . Have a normal healthy diet. I took cheap vitamins but it probably makes no difference.
I was prescribed Prednisolone which was a really difficult and other drugs to reduce my blood pressure. It took years to get off them, but I made it.** Word of warning !** these web sites are public, so be careful no one sells you crank remedies. Just follow the doctor's instructions and all will be well.
Bless you both and good luck, E

I am not sure what this disease is. I will look it up on the internet.
My only experience of kidney problems is when I had kidney stones in 2017.
Eventually I had them removed by keyhole surgery.
When I asked the consultant how I could prevent them coming back he said "WATER WATER WATER."
So drink plenty of water.
I know it might seem scary at the moment but try not to worry too much.
Hope this helps.
Take care and keep in touch
Sarah
