IGG Test Results ; Please Help Me Read

So I went to the doctors about a week ago because Ive had a horrible sore throat, Ive literally slept for almost 3 days straight only, & I broke out bad into hives with a runny nose. I tested negative for mono, strep, & corona but positive for HSV 1. Ive never had cold sores on my mouth or genital area, my results show high so does this mean I just contracted it? Or have I had this forever? & is it contagious to others? & what does the result " 19.20% " mean?

i believe a high number means its a well established infection. if its close to 1, i think that means its more recent

Everything about 1 is positiv. You got 19, so it's very very sure that you are hsv1 or a 2 positiv .

unfortunately blood tests are tricky. it does not tell you in the infection is oral or genital, it can only tell you if you have antibodies or not. you only have antibodies if you have the virus. there is also no real way to know how long youve had it, as everyone produces antibodies differently, the can fluctuate, and develop at different rates. with that being said they typically suggest that numbers that high are established infections but again, this is not always a way to measure length of infection. Also yes, is contagious to others, you may be asymptomatic but the virus can shed during asymptomatic shedding as well. what made them decide to test?

If im contagious havent I infected everyone Ive interacted with in the past without knowing ? or was it dormant before ? & I had an untreated STD infection & tested negative for mono & strep. I got the shot then took the blood test.

its possible you dont shed often and therefore dont transmit it often. herpes is kind of like a russian roulette you could get lucky over snd over again but theres always at least one bullet in the chamber if that makes sense. if you want to find communities with a lot of good information check out reddit, theres a forum called r/herpes and i would google terri warren she has a hsv help website shes been studying it for 30 years and is considered an expert in the field, also has a clinic. her herpes help forum is helpful because you can read what others have asked or you can pay to ask her for help too but its really informative.
