Igm going up while igg are already there

Hello everyone,

by February i went for a blood test that was recommended by an urologist, i was hsv1 positive with igg=5 and igm=0.12 , i was having an inner infection or inflamation of my genital area with urinating difficulties.

four month after that and after 5 ozonotherapy sessions i went for a second test, the results were hsv1 igg=8 and igm=1.4

how can igm antibodies appear when igg ones are already there ?? The doctor said that its a good sign.

The IGM test is the WORST Herpes test out there. That's why it's recommended to wait at least 2 months after exposure to take the IGG test which is far more reliable. If the IGG test comes back with an index of 3.5 or higher that means that the positive result is more than likely accurate if it's lower than that then confirmatory testing is highly recommended. Well wishes.

thank you but it s my second test after months of exposure, igg is already positive, but why igm are positives after being negatives in first test?

Because IGM can only detect new infections that's a few days and weeks in. It's the first antibodies your body creates when a new infection is present. After a few weeks and days your body then creates IGG antibodies so naturally the IGM antibodies will decrease. A lot of experts in the field doesn't reccomend IGM testing due to it being unreliable.
