ILD

Ive had ILD (interstitial lung disease) for approx 1 year now & constantly coughing either coughing up phlegm or just dry coughing

To subdue it because Im coughing from my chest Im simply taking chesty cough lemsips - first thing in th morning when all the fluid will be lying on my lungs & last thing at night so can sleep (& if I need to & am coughing during the day take them (according to the rules of the packet)

I'm trying to find out if there is any medicine that will completely stop the coughing altogether permanently

When I went to see the nurse at the chest clinic/rheumatology clinic (dual clinic) I never got a straight answer but she is giving me some medicine that will thin out the mucus to make it easier to cough it up - but she said I ll still be coughing

She ll be communicating with my GP -I think with the intention of adding it to my repeat prescription

I want something that ll get rid of it for good

does anyone know if there is anything available
