I have been ill for 19 months now, it all started with what seemed to be the beginning of a cold (irratated throat n runny nose).. then my toungue swelled and i had faint pink spots over my body, had a red ear drum and began to feel very tired and unwell. i went to the Dr n was told "it's prob just a viris".. a few days after that my chest and kidneys felt like they swelled, my heart was pounding and i was needing to wee all the time. then i went deaf in my left ear was very dizzy, felt like i was being stabbed in the head and the left side of my face went kind of tingly and numb... a few months after that the swelling feeling went down to the bottom of my spine between my legs in my left arm and leg (i couldnt walk on my left foot for for several weeks as it was swollen). my left inner ear is just swelling, feeling hot ans filling with fluid. i have been back to the doctors repeatedly over the last 19 months. and all my blood test are coming back normal (it took 8 months before anyone decided to to a fbc!).

i'm just left feeling ill and tired with a contstant ENT promblems and a swollen feeling in my chest. my doctor last week decided it's all aniexty.. I just think he is SO wrong and i just dont know what to do..

has anybody got Any idea of whats happened to me?(i think it might be an infection but wouldnt that show on my tests?) im a 29 year old woman and ive not had any illness in my life before.

Hello Miss Mack.  I am going to be a disappointment to you as I have no idea what is wrong with you but I agree - not anxiety, the answer they come up with when they can't think of anything else.  So - just a couple of suggestions, not to frighten you but to try to get answers.   As multiple parts of your body seem to have been affected, did they test you for a range of autoimmune diseases?  These often target different parts of the body. (Some can be diagnosed with blood tests though people with these disease can also be 'serum negative'.)  Also have you been tested for allergic reactions? - just a thought as you had those faint pink spots over your body early on.  Have you seen specialists?  Not just an ENT but maybe a neurologist and/or otolaryngologist.  Sorry I can't think of anything else but I do feel for you.

Hi, thanks for the reply maureen. yes it's definatly not anxiety but im going to see the counsellor my doctor has referred me to anyway just so they can listen to me and hopefully tell my doctor its not anxiety.. (think i need counselling anyway as it's all very disstressing.). they tested for autoimmune diseases and all ae back normal. I dont understand how when theyve tested for inflammination it's all come back normal.. when i and other people could see that i had swelling. ive also had alot of green n white stuff from my ear nose n throat, which make me think infection but again blood tests are normal. I havent had any alergy test. ive seen ent n the gave me nose sprays which havent helped. i havent seen any other specialist. i think i'll be asking for allergy testing and to see some kind of specialist but i'll have to go to this counselling first as doc basically said he wont test for anything else as he thinks it's anxiety and wants to look into that first rolleyes
