    Hi Lara,

it is perfectly normal to feel this way, your body has suffered a huge trauma an not to mention the hormonal changes going on, anaesthetic alone can make you feel this way, I remember how I felt, I was stage 1A, also post menopausal when I had the op so a lot of it is hormonal.

      hi Phoebe

thank up you for your advice - how long did you feel 'up and down'' and did you need to have any hormonal treatment prescribed after the removal of your ovaries?

      kind Regards

      Hi there,

I think it went on for only a short while, I had my hysterectomy literally just 10 days before Christmas so I didn't really have time to be tearful for too long and this quite possibly helped me, No I didn't have any hormonal treatment after, my Gynaecologist said that as the cancer is fed by oestrogen then it really wasn't a good idea, when I saw him prior to my hysterectomy one of his first questions he asked me was 'have you ever been on HRT?' I hadn't and he just said 'good'.

      Hi Phoebe

Thank you very much for your reply.

I think something is going on with me not sure, but both my parents are ill and my dad is recovering from bowel cancer, my partner has just started work after a long time being unemployed and I feel very vulnerable alone in the house when I am susceptible to low mood etc, as I do suffer with anxiety - but I have just contacted my local gp surgery for advice.

Aw, you are really going through a tough time both emotionally and physically, everything has hit you at once, I also suffer with anxiety so know what That's like, I'm agoraphobic so even getting to the hospital was a trial. what fun, do you follow any deep breathing techniques when you are anxious? it's good that you have contacted your GP, is he/she supportive? do you have any close friends you can talk to?

Let me know how you get on, private message me anytime if you just want to chat.

      take care

      hi Phoebe

yes my GP's are supportive (the right ones) i practice breathing exercises and use narrated relaxation apps which do help. sorry to hear about the agrophobia you also have.

ive overdone it today i think - my sister took me for a small food shop this morning and i was walking around as if there was nothing wrong with me and now im laid out at home feeling sick and unwell!!!! its my own fault i should have let more time pass before leaving the house.

    Hi Laura,

I had to take a moment and reply to your post....Just wanted to say that I am so SORRY that you are feeling blue..

All that you are experiencing is due to the op. It immediately throws your body into a hormonal fit! As well as menopause!

Sounds like you made the same mistake that I made early on by moving too fast. I actually traveled to California once I was released form the doctor 8 weeks after surgery. With the travel and being out and about I experienced severe joint pain and swelling of my knees and legs.

I opted out of HRT, so I take lots of vitamins, no dairy, no gluten, no bread, as all of these things were murder on my digestive system, which would lead to an acid reflux episode.

My symptoms have calmed two and half years later after a total hysto. Though I still have occasional swelling of my joints as well pain, sudden diarrhea episodes, digestive issues, hot flashes, night sweats, as well as low immune, which is getting better due to all of the vitamins I take several times a day..

All in all I am not disappointed that I had the surgery. Waking up daily WITHOUT HAVING CONSTANT MENSTRUAL SYMPTOMS, TWO-THREE CYCLES MTHLY, CHRONIC PAIN NO CYCLE, CHRONIC PAIN CYCLE, LIGHT BLEEDING, HEAVY BLEEDING, CRUCIAL CRAMPING, AND SWELLING.....

    I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND.....#FEELBETTER!
