Hello! I get this too and mine is just caused by anxiety so it is more likely panic from It. I always start thinking the worst and i have thought the exact same. Get checked by your gp if it keeps happening! Hope you feel well soon.

It is most likely panic. I have the same experiences and when I'm calm and I go back and look at how it all progressed, it always starts with a simple feeling that isn't right and then I start thinking somethings wrong with me and I get scared and it maximizes the feelings intensely and very quickly. So far I don't have a ton of good advice for you because I really struggle with anxiety right now. What I can tell you though is that I cope by taking deep breath and telling myself that if I still feel the same way and X amount of time then I will seek care. For an example, lately I have been getting dizzy almost every single day. I have to force myself to do the things that I get done. I've noticed that a lot of my anxiety happens when I am out in public. So if I get dizzy out in public then I automatically tell myself that this is obviously anxiety and that I will go to the doctor if I have dizziness for five days in a row. It doesn't necessarily make going through it any less miserable but it helps me understand that it's just anxiety and I hope to someday overcome it.

Yes, I have had that happen many many times. That is the adrenaline rushing through your body because you're scared. One time I woke up and my heart started beating funny and racing and I got up to go to the bathroom and I measureD my heart rate and it was 220 bpm. I was convinced that I was having a heart attack and my whole body felt like Jell-O and I honestly felt like calling an ambulance because I knew I was dying right then. Nothing about it felt like anxiety at all. I woke my partner up and begged to be taken to the ER. What she is amazing at is calming me down. She got up and we went out to the car and then she just didn't start it. And of course I was convinced that I was dying. But she just started talking and within a few mins I was significantly calmer. Then I started reading and working through The Anxiety and Phobia workbook and learned a lot about how our hearts are made to withstand a lot and it talks about the physical symptoms and why what we think is happening is not happening. I recommend it. smile

Lee, if ur heartrate has gone up to 220 & this repeats itself, i'd consider it worthwhile paying a visit to ur GP. an ECG will pick any ongoing heart beat irregurlarities & hopefully put ur arrythmia episodes in context. so reassuring to know u have a supportive & competent partner.

      all good wishes.

If there is the slightest doubt concerning pains in the chest the medical advice is to go immediately to A&E.

It is possibly due to anxiety, but that is only guesswork and cannot be relied upon.
