I have anxiety and mild ocd i have been on sertraline for 7 months now and recently got put upto 100mg however i cant seem to tolerate sertraline at higher doses as it makes me very agitated which is why i came off it previously. I tried duloxetine which made me feel very nauseated. Im worried im going to run out of options. I have tried citalopram a couple of years ago before was pretty good. I have overcome a lot of my ocd over the years but its the obsessive thoughts i cant seem to get to grips with. Sometimes i need to know the answer to certain things that pop up in my head and i feel extreme anxiety if i dont get an answer even though it is irrelevant. I seem to have episodes of ocd that come and go but the anxiety is always there and wont go away. I feel awful that my children have a mother with a mental illness and feel guilty for this. I am currently waiting for cbt to come through also. I really want to get on with my life and do the things i want to do but i cant with this anxiety. Will ocd get better? Im scared im going to be stuck like this for the rest of my life. Sorry for the long post.

The CBT will help a lot. Don't worry.
It seems to me that the meds you are on are not exactly working. Have you asked your doctor or psychiatrist to try something completely different? There are a lot of different meds available, and it is worth searching for the one that actually works.
Just to mention - I did training in something called Neuro-Linguistic Programming, which is similar to CBT in a lot of ways, and includes Hypnotherapy. This modality is often helpful for OCD, but the pity is that there are way too many poorly trained idiots out there, so you need to find an expert, and the trouble is that the idiots will call themselves 'experts' to get customers, ha ha ha ha. One brilliant NLP genius and Hypnotherapy genius is a highly qualified psychologist called Stephen Brooks. He used to teach psychology students at hospitals in London during the 1980's and he is phenomonal. Maybe try looking him up on line? He has had so much impressive success with OCD.
Failing that, just tell your doctor or psychiatrist to try you on different meds till you find one that actually works!
I hope this advice is good advice. If not, then please just ignore.
All the best and I hope you feel better soon.
