For the past three years, I have had the worst possible pains in my knees, feet hands, spine and shoulders. I discovered over a year ago that I had fibromyalgia, over this time my GP has done nothing to help, and I don’t know what to do. It has got to the point where the pain is what I consider normal. I’m only 18, and I feel as if I’m not living my life because of this, recently I went to the hospital due to the pain being so bad, and they ran a few tests. The results said that I have symptoms of arthritis. I honestly just don’t know what do anymore, every time I see my doctor it's as if I’m not a priority, and I’m irritating and it stressing me out. I just want to be healthy, and he won't help me.
what should i do?

You are not alone here. Doctors unfortunately aren't very helpful with the diagnosis of Fibro. My pains started when I was 23 and was told it is R.S.I. and then was told it coud be carpal tunnel, then to be told it could be signs of arthiritus. Years went by with no proper and final diagnosis was I had chronic pain. I am now 45 and was only diagnosed last Aug 2014 from my rheumatologist that I had Fibro.
Dealing with is can be frustrating but over the years I have found medication didn't work for me and I felt depressed and had very low self esteem. As I have had years of pain I have come to terms with it and with the help of CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) I have become mindful in my thinking and have become more positive and I am able to deal with a day at a time. Maybe you should ask your GP to refer you to these sessions.
Please don't be sad and live for the moment and stay positive. I understand at times being positive can be a challenge but it's the way forward.
Gentle hugs and take care x

I'm so sorry your feeling so so unwell and feel your not being listened to,
It can be very difficult to get diognosed with fibromyalgia in the first place so at least you have got a diagnosis which is a good start,
You are very young, Do you have a supportive family friends etc ?
Has your GP refereed you to see a rhumatologist yet If not ask him to be as this is important as they specialise in fibro and not all GP's are in agreement that fibro exists
If you have lost faith in him you might want to change your GP it's your right to do so if your not confident in the one you have,
Are you on medication for fibro, what was the outcome of having arthritis
You are among friends on here and we support each other best we can,
Thoughts are with you
Gentle hugs being sent
