Immodium/loperamide

Hi I all. Me again, I've just posted about my recovery so far with Iliostomy. Been having problems with dehydration, been back in hospital.  I've had no luck with meds food etc. out of desperation, I'm giving the Immodium/ loperamide another go, had heart palpitations when I first took it but no but now I'm wondering if the dehydration was causing the palpitations? Any thoughts? Anyone have success with this? Quite desperate.

    Hi Rhiannon,

       I asked a friend who has a colostomy. She takes Imodium and does low fiber.

    Yes dehydration can cause palpitations also.  What about kaopectate? Check with your Dr first or Pepto Bismol

    I know you can have heart palpitations with dehydration. Can you have Broth? I think I liquid diet is a good idea. Hope you find help and relief.
