Does anyone take a suppliment to help support their immune system? Currently I take a multi vitamin and turrmeric  powder for inflammation. Winter is coming on and I just wondered......

See if you can get a Vit D test - if your levels are low, the daily calcium/vit D tablet you take may not be enough, and low levels create painful muscle/soft tissue weakness and pain - which is just what you don't want.

I also take magnesium as without it I get painful muscle spasms and cramp.  I haven't had any of those in a while now.

Cheers Nefret. I stopped taking everything except multi vit when the palpatations started trying to eliminate the cause of them so I will start again with the exception of the Adcal as they gave me probs os another nature (see response to tina above)

Palpitations - could be the pred or they could be due to the autoimmune part of PMR. Do check with your doctor because in my case the "palpitations" were actually atrial fibrillation due to damage to the electrical cells in the heart from the autlimmune disorder.

I have an ultrasound on Tuesday next week. They started about 2 weeks after the pred commenced. Don't get them all the time. Mostly after eating! By evening time all is quiet and normal and all through the night I assume so too as they don't wake me or if I do wake they aren't there. Get up in the morning (usually 4am, don't ask me why I just wake alert and ready for action!) HAve a drink and some brekky all's well,  take my pred and half an hour later the old ticker is galloping away.

They did show on the ecg as I had a sandwich 20 mins before but the doc said they were very boring and nothing of any concern. Think the scan is to rule out anything else but because of the way I get them I'm sure it's the meds. So I don't have tea/coffee/choccy or fizzy drinks any more. sad
