Imodium Instants?

Posted , 3 users are following.

Im not a diagnosed IBS sufferer, however I was wondering if there are risks involved with taking 1 immodium instant tablet say every morning for a week (packet reccomends no nore than 48hrs continously)

I often pick up diharrea when visiting new places possibly sensitive to water / food etc even when being as safe as possible. I tried this one a morning routine on my last 7 day holiday and it avtually worked great and relieved most of my anxiety about eating big meals and being near a bathroom.

is this an odd habit / way of dealing with it okay? or not the best idea to deal with this

thank you in advance

There is always a risk when taking medication contrary to the dosage advice. Imodium is usually taken after a loose watery stool as I am sure you know. Please dont take it like this for more than 7 days and if you have severe constipation, or painful stomach cramps or blood in your stool after 7 days then do see your doctor. Only take the lowest dose.

Do you have any bowel movements during the 7 days?

hi a32, i can't believe you'd take imodium so often! i only used it 4 years back because i came back on holiday with a urinary infection and would be on a coach a number of hours, i have them really rarely. if i am out and i feel dodgy before i go out as i have to then i take them. check what you do have if it's not ibs, you shouldn't really take medication like this as when you really need them they may not work at all or as well!
