Impatient

I've been on Sertraline for two weeks now. I started 4 days at 50mg. upped to 100 mg. since. I've not noticed much difference except less physical symptoms of anxiety. I still wake up at nite with forlorn feelings of impending doom or worse case worries over family and such. I know it's early. I'm not wanting to up my dose quickly, either. I'm not one to consult the doc every other day. Just need to know the rules of the road. I have Lorazepam for any intense anxiety issues. Took on last nite for sleeping and it helped a bit, but not a lot.
It's easy to say "you'll feel better" but in what way? I surely going to have the same concerns about family and such. But this deaden's the intensity or what? I don't want to be "numbed" I guess. I don't want to rely on meds for my emotions.
Am I being too impatient?

Hi Joe, it a nutshell yes you are, the drug will build up slowly in your brain and body, you will probably have ups and downs, where you think 1 day yes I have cracked it only for the negative thinking to return, this does not mean the meds are not working by the fact that you had a good day/s it means they are. With regards to the worries you have over everyday things and your family, you will still have them, that is normal, but they will not be blown out of proportion and you will be able to deal with them in a practical way.
