Implant pain!

I had the contraceptive implant put in on Tuesday (now Sunday) and the pain is so bad I can’t put my motorbike helmet on or even a jacket without it hurting.

The bruising is pretty nasty too. I can also see the implant under the skin where I couldn’t with my last one.

I’m also having pain in my left breast but not sure if that’s the hormones being released.

When I had the implant put in she gave me two local anaesthetic injections but didn’t test to see if I was numb first, I felt everything, it was absolutely brutal. She felt awful and apologised, I know she didn’t want to hurt me but she said they’d changed it from being slightly under the arm (say 180 degrees) and now it’s at 90 degrees on the inside of my arm.

Is this pain normal? The bruising is horrific and everyone says it’s not normal.

I am not anaemic or have any issues with iron or clotting.

Thank you

My arm was pretty painful and bruised for a long time. I'm pretty sure this is normal. Even if you search online about it you'll see people with huge bruises. If I moved mine a certain way you could see the entire thing thru my skin. Also if I bent my arm a certain way it didn't feel good at all and kind of grossed me out here and there. One of the many side effects of the implant is breast tenderness.
