Improved mood on Sertraline

Posted , 2 users are following.

I will be starting Sertraline 50 next Monday as I am in the process of coming off a different med. I was on it in the past and it gave me a lot of energy which was amazing. My main issue is depression not anxiety so how long did it take to feel some improvements in mood? I know for the first two weeks I will have to put up with some side effects but then it should get better.

I found it took 4-5 weeks before I noticed any true benefit on Sert 50mg, and yes, did have quite a bit of nausea, increased anxiety, etc, etc ....

Stick with it, I feel loads better now (5 months on)

    Hoping for you x

I have anxiety and depression. The anxiety was more severe than the depression.

After 5 months on Sert I feel 95% back to normal; I still have a little bit of 'morning' anxiety, which tends to settle by lunchtime, and the depression is completely gone.

    Hoping for you too x

That’s great! My main problem is depression and anxiety is secondary because I have been unwell for a while and I worry a lot when will I feel happy, normal self?! I have been on Venlafaxine for the past 8 weeks and Mirtazapine but my doc is weaning me off Mirt (fatigue and tiredness) and will add Sert 50 to Venlafaxine.
