In need of advice

hi just saw my doctor and she had suggested hormone eplacement therapy I’m 54 and I am in the middle of menopause. I knew the hot flashes and night sweats were increasing but I didn’t realize why I was feeling so anxious, depressed, tired etc any input to pros and cons would be welcomed. I am very weak conscious and definitely do not want to put on an extra pounds although maybe feeling a human again is worth a few extra pounds !!!

Hi HrT can releive symptoms and make you feel so much better once you find the right one to suit you ..most women at 50 plus use a patch or gel with progesterone in tablet suppostrie or merino coil ..you have to give it a good 6 weeks but see how you go. they check BP family history and as long as you lead a healthy lifestyle no reason why this should be a problem . i nave been on since 37 20 years i am 57 feel great ..had to switch a few times but got there in the end with trial errror ..good luck this group great for support but discuss with Dr and work with himas we are all individuls with what works for us ..

Thank you. It Does seem that the benefits of women replacement therapy outweigh the side effects. After doing some research I think I will give it a try and start on a low dose . I appreciate your input and it sounds like it’s working great for you!!
