In need of help.

Hi I’m newly diagnosed with IC, I was sick for three years prior but was told by many doctors and specialist that I was only ever suffering from UTIs and needed to take better care of myself. I was finally diagnosed by a urologist and wasn’t told much about my diagnosis (when I asked he advised me to google my condition). I have tried looking online but have yet to find any information past changing your diet that again doesn’t go into much detail either. He only advised to stop eating spicy, citrus and only drink alkaline water which I have done but haven’t felt much change. He prescribed Elmiron but I started suffering from vision loss and when I brought this up he told me too stop taking it and let me know right then and there that my condition was to rare for him to further help me and referred me to UC Irvine. Being new to my diagnosis I was hoping to get more information on IC and also questions I should be asking my doctor. Also does anyone know what I should be expecting out of a visit to a college? If anyone knows any good website I would love any recommendations as well!
