Yes, Grace - I think you're quite normal! I was the same at your age (though that was nearly 60 years ago) but I soon grew out of it. Lots of young people go through this as part of the general turmoil of growing up, and it's worse for some than for others.

It's down to two causes. One problem is that it's a generally anxious time and you're more likely to notice minor symptoms. The other is that the changes taking place in your body at this age actually produce all kinds of symptoms - mysterious pains etc. But it's all quite harmless.

Is there anyone you can talk to when you get worried about yourself? Your mother, grandmother, auntie? A special friend? Or even your school counsellor if there is one. I remember feeling very alone, as none of my friends had the problem as badly as I did and my mother used to get angry and punish me if I talked about it. I wish we'd had the internet in the 1950s!

Don't hesitate to get in touch again if you want to.

Hello grace, dont worry about this at all i used to do it alll the time and still do in fact (im 20), but what ive learned is that i find a few symptoms in everything and then suddenly it says im dying! But the things is, this is most often not the case, i havent died, i havent got cancer or anything serious, sometimes its just a soar throat for example. But worrying about your health in this way is normal, and searching online is also normal. if you have symptoms that you notice and feel worried about, dont look it up online, monitor it for a week or so and if it is still present or worsens, just see your GP to be sure. pancing over something will make you feel worse and possibly psychologically make them happen because you worry soooo much! If theres anything specific you want to menion that you are currently worried about people can give advice on here if you like? Hope this helps! your not alone, we all do it wink
