Incision seems to be healing over my stitches, this can't be normal?

Hey again,

I had my batholin's cyst removed a month ago and things really aren't going well at all. I'm still in pain and ended up with an infection followed by thrush (aren't I lucky). I thought I'd be brave and take another look at the incision area to try and work out why I'm in pain. It seems to be getting smaller and closing over, which is good. But my stitches haven't gone, is this normal? I assumed they would have fallen out by now, but they haven't and the wounds starting to close over them.

I saw a doctor on Monday and he didn't mention that anything was wrong, he only commented on the trush. All these cysts and surgeies are really starting to get me down sad

    They need doctors to monitor this site! Some sites do that. Be helpful to get written opinions on this from doctors who maybe know what they're doing?

    My swelling has gone down have an appointment for my obgyn in late OCT. Her advise to me is to have a ton of sex once it flairs up so that it gets worse and then she can treat it. is that insane or what ?? 

    Just met someone new and he lives far away. He's coming here in OCT for a few weeks so I guess I'll put her advise to the test. Really rather not go the "try to make it worse so I can treat it route," but hey how many times do you go the doctor and get prescribed "sex?" 

    There has been a lot of suffering for me over this condition feels great to have a forum to talk about my experience, but like others have mentioned there has to be other ways of treating this aside from wait until it gets to be the size of a tennis ball and then we'll do something, but until then sit in a hot bath. wtf

      Very stupid advice from a doctor. When I had mine flare up and it was swollen and sore, to have sex with it, was the last thing on my mind. It would be extremely painful.

      If it's gonna get worse, it'll get worse without forcing it to without lots of sex. When I had my reoccurrence when my boyfriend and I had only been together for a month. It was very hard to explain the situation but thankfully he was great about it & he took me to the ER when it flared up. Came and got me after surgery. Waited for me to be ready after surgery to have sex.

      With your new guy, does he know of your cyst?

    It took awhile before my stitches were all out after I had it marisuplised. I went and saw my doctor and he said that you don't want them to fall out a month after the surgery, as it's still a fresh incision and the pouch made out of the cyst can go back to it was before the surgery if the stitches dont stay in long enough. From memory all my stitches had fallen out at around the 8 week mark.

    Def have a doctor look. But I had stitches still at 4 weeks post surgery.
